Overview

Substitute assessments are state-approved tests (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP, IB, TSIA, etc.) that can be used in place of certain STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) assessments to satisfy graduation requirements. OnDataSuite captures these scores through TSDS PEIMS submissions and OnSync integrations (College Board, ACT, Accuplacer, etc.) so districts can track eligibility, accountability impact, and reporting needs.

⚠️ Notes for Administrators

  • Qualifying scores are determined annually by TEA; always check the Substitute Assessment Guidance for current standards.
  • Passing scores satisfy graduation requirements but do not typically replace STAAR EOCs for accountability purposes.
  • Ensure substitute test results are captured in PEIMS or via OnSync (College Board, ACT, TSIA2) for accurate reporting.
