Please note that when opened, the A-F Domain reports should only be considered preliminary, as all results are based on the early release preliminary assessment files and we may need to work through any programmatic issues as they arise.
Districts are reminded that as we begin this new year we will be calculating your results based on uploaded data files that are presumed to be complete and formatted as designated by TEA as published on the TEA Data File Formats website for the 2025 year. https://tea.texas.gov/student-assessment/testing/student-assessment-overview/data-file-formats
Accuracy of initially reported results
Historically we will utilize the first few days/weeks to confirm that system-wide uploaded files do not have issues with formatting or incorrect data and that our code is working. This means that we will be pushing items daily/weekly as we test to ensure the reasonableness and accuracy of each domain and in some cases may need to update code to recalculate this data.

Reminder about A-F reporting accuracy
Just a reminder. The process of calculating A-F each year involves multiple items that can affect the final calculation of the results, and as such can take some time on our end to make sure that the reported PRELIMINARY A-F predictions are as accurate as possible.
Please remember that OnDataSuite programmers will program our reports in accordance with TEA guidance from the latest manual specifications, but until we have all data files from several districts in and available to test, there is no way for us to determine how accurate our A-F reports are until we have run them for multiple districts and district feedback via the ticket system lets us know they are as accurate as possible.
As the first few days of data files start to come in and are calculated, we rely on YOU, our district users, to help us determine if our reporting is accurately reporting for the current year. Please read the items below and then if you have issues this year, create a ticket and make sure to provide as much detail as possible when describing why you feel the report is incorrect. A good example of what we need would be if your ticket gives specific student examples (Last name/local ID) that should or should not be included in counts, what domain you are inquiring about and screenshots if possible that shows the total value(s) you are referring to.
Are our calculations accurate?
We are calculating the results using the methodology provided via the TEA 2025 Accountability Manual. However, if the files you are uploading have issues with the vendor, or if the file is missing, then the calculation will not be accurate. If the assessment file you uploaded was replaced by the vendor with a new file, then you may need to request that the original file be removed
Is all of your data uploaded coming from a valid file?
Please make sure that ALL required files have been uploaded. This happens each year. A district will need to verify that all required files have been uploaded.

Did you review your data for data reasonableness?
After you load a file(s), please utilize the Assessment, reporting features in OnDataSuite to determine that the files you loaded make data sense. For example, if you know you have approximately 300 EOC A1 testers and you only are seeing 100, that is a clear sign that the uploaded files are lacking. Additionally, make sure that the numerator and denominator values being used to calculate your A-F reports are accurate. Do this by drilling down into the student lists and making sure all your kids are there. This can be done first with the smallest sample (select one campus to review) versus trying to determine reasonableness on the grand scale (district-wide).

All updates/changes to the A-F system will be posted to this page. In most cases, these updates will be pushed out to your system the evening of the post unless otherwise noted. Districts are encouraged to print a copy of their summary report prior to patch items going out to help determine if a given patch had any effect on your projected results. | 06/24/25 | Fixed an issue where STAAR ALT2 records were not parsing correctly.[High] Fixed an issue in Domain 3 where prior year tables from 2023, instead of 2024, were still being used for Student Growth, Student Success and School Quality, and Graduation components. [Reload Required] [High] Fixed an issue in Domain 3 Summary that was displaying the wrong component data. This did not effect the actual calculation. [Med] Fixed an issue in the Domain 3 Summary where the CCMR component was not displaying under the School Quality/Student Success section. This was a display issue only and did not affect overall score calculations. [Med] Fixed an issue in this year’s Domain Overall Summary where links were incorrectly pointing to last year’s data. | 06/23/25 | A-F Overall Summary is out live. These results should be considered as still part of the Phase 3 beta stage. Users are encouraged to view their domain file status reports to check for any files that may still be missing or uploaded in error and should also review each domains summary and detail pages for information that appears incorrect. Fixed an issue in the Domain 3 calculation logic for selecting the lowest two performing ethnicities. [High] Fixed an issue in the Domain 3 calculation where the lowest two ethnicities were not being properly calculated.[High] Fixed the Domain 3 “Prior-Year Comparison” so it now pulls 2024 data instead of 2023. Note: If the 2024 CTG file isn’t loaded, the report will automatically fall back to 2022 TEA data. | 06/19/2025 | Domain 3 Reports – Initial Release for 2025 A–F Reporting This afternoon, we began the process of adding Domain 3 reports to the 2025 A–F reporting section. Please note that this release is part of Phase 3: Beta Testing. As was the case with the release of Domain 1 and Domain 2 reports, items within this phase of the release of Domain 3 are still undergoing validation and should be considered in beta until all related support tickets have been tested and resolved. During this final phase we ask that districts review the reported data for reasonableness and if you see something that is incorrect please create a support ticket and provide student examples. Current issues we are aware of We are aware that it may take a few hours for the new reports to fully propagate throughout your system. If you see the report available but no data populated yet, this is expected—please allow additional time.[Low] Additionally, you may notice a message at the top of the Domain reporting screens prompting you to upload your Closing the Gaps file. Follow-up items from todays session are posted below: Domain 2 Preliminary Release: Assuming the Student Preliminary (SP) files for 3-8 process successfully, preliminary numbers for Domain 2 should be available by mid to late next week. We will still need to test on our end before it goes out. Lead4ward Reports Update: Lead4ward reports ARE directly tied to the domain 2 calculation and will be updated to include Domain 2 data. These reports will be updated and pushed out by mid to late next week. Domain 3 Rollout Schedule: Domain 3 is scheduled to be released the week after Domain 2. Reason for Domain 3 staggered release time frame: ALT records will not be available until June 20th so we will need to confirm the files contain all required data. Cohort Longitudinal – Current Year listings (4-, 5-, and 6-year cohorts) are still pending and must undergo testing before inclusion in Domain 3. | 06/09/2025 | A-F Domain 1 display – Beta Testing Stage As of this morning we have started to calculate Domain 1 in beta state. Districts may see fluctuational values as we progress. | 06/05/2025 | Removal of prior year 2024 A-F from the accountability section As discussed in Assessment & Collaborative meetings prior, with this new roll-over from the prior 2024 A-F reporting period, we will now be removing the 2024 A-F section from the accountability section. Phase I. A-F 2025 calculations status (Beta Period) We are starting to receive data file uploads that will affect the current A-F 2025 calculation. Please keep the following items listed below in mind and keep checking this page for updates as we progress through the 1st phase of calculation: 1. The only report that will be made available during this phase will be Domain 1 summary and detail reports. 2. As the first files are uploaded we will still be in the ‘beta’ testing phase of the calculation of the Assessment portion of your A-F reporting. This may mean that you will not see calculated results until we have confirmed the new files are working with the 2025 code. The delay should not be long, but we still have to make sure this is working as intended. [Med] 3. Reminder that you will NOT see any calculated overall district A-F letter grade rating value during this first phase but you should be able to see the domain 1 summary and detail values of assessment scores loaded. You will also see a letter grade calculated for the campus for this domain. This should allow you to see the student groupings by approaches, meets, masters [Low] 4. We are working on allowing the scores for Elementary and Middle to be calculated in the absence of the 4,5,6 longitudinal file, but High School campus scores cannot be calculated in the absence of the 4,5,6 longitudinal cohort data.
