Disciplinary Student and Incident Analysis

Report Location: Student>Student Custom Reports>Discipline Reports>Incidents

Summary: This report provides a comprehensive view of disciplinary reporting with student counts/percentages of disciplinary incidents, disciplinary incident counts/percentages, and multiple incident ranges for ethnicity/gender/grade categories.

Usage: Report can be utilized for various discipline reviews including LEA/campus improvement plans. Extensive information can help guide best practices regarding disciplinary management.

Special Notes:

• Disciplinary Incident Counts/Percentages
  • Total Number of Unique Disciplinary Incidents is not a sum of the Number of Disciplinary Incidents rows since multiple students can be involved in the same incident
  • Drill downs will often show a higher count since it displays all students’ incidents, so students reported with the same incident number will count only once in the summary count but will display all rows in the drill down.
  • Special Education (summer) percentages are calculated the same way as the percentages for ethnicity

Definitions:

• Student Counts/Percentages
  • Any student who has at least one disciplinary incident is included in counts
• Disciplinary Incident Counts/Percentages
  • Unique count of disciplinary incidents by section/category
• Multiple Incidents
  • Students categorized into 3 columns depending on number of unique disciplinary incidents

Calculations:

• #2 Percentages:
  • Percentage of Students with Disciplinary Incidents = Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents in that ethnicity / Total Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents
  • Percentage of Students Enrolled in LEA/School = Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School in that ethnicity / Total Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School
  • Percentage of students within each ethnicity reported for a disciplinary incident = Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents in that ethnicity / Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School in that ethnicity
  • Relative Risk Ratio =
    1. Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents in that ethnicity / Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School in that ethnicity
    2. Total Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents – Number of Students with Disciplinary Incidents in that ethnicity
    3. Total Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School – Number of Students Enrolled in LEA/School in that ethnicity
