As of 10/4/2024 TEA released the final 24-25 TWEDS (Data Standards) updates in the TEA IODS for each LEA.
- StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation >StaffServiceSet
- TWEDS Change – Added SPED StudentAgeRange as required
- API Impact-If JSON is sent without SPEDStudentAgeRange, the API will throw a level one error because both StaffServiceSet and SPEDStudentRange are required
- IODS Impact—Upon deploying the update (2025 2.0) to TSDS Production, all data will be deleted from Staff EducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation because it would be inconsistent since it does not have all required fields. All data for the StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation will need to be reloaded with the SPEDStudentAgeRange
- StaffEducationOrganizationEmplymentAssociation >DaysEmployedSet
- TWEDS Change –Data Elements PercentDayEmployed and NumberDaysEmployed moved to new CommonTypeDayesEmployedSet. DaysEmployedSet may have multiple instances and is required.
- API Impact – If PercentDayEmployed and NumberDaysEmployed are not sent in the new Common Type, the API will throw a Level One Error
- IODS Impact—Upon deploying the update to TSDS Production, the entire entity will be deleted. Vendors must reload the data with the new DaysEmployedSet as a collection for StaffEducationOrganizationEmplymentAssociation.
- Staff->ParaprofessionalCertificationSet-
- TWEDS Change- Added may have multiple instances
- API impact – ParaprofessionalCertificationSet will now appear as ParaprofessionalCertificationSets in JSON. Data Sent as a single item will throw an error.
- IODS Impact—Upon deploying the update to TSDS production, the ParaprofessionalCertificationSets will be deleted. Vendors must reload Staff for those records that need to have the ParaprofessionalCertificationSets.
- Section>SectionSet-
- TWEDS Change– Added SPEDStudentAgeRange as required
- API Impact– When submitting the optional SectionSet, the API will throw a level 1 error if the SPEDStudentAgeRange is not included.
- IODS Impact – Upon deploying the updated to TSDS Production site, only the SectionSet will be deleted from this entity in the IODS
- Prior Year Leaver –
- TWEDS Change – Renamed LanguageInstuctionProgramService to LangInstuProgramSVC.
- API Impact – None, if data is sent with the old name, the API will ignore it. This could give the impression that the data was successfully sent
- IODS Impact – Upon deploying the update to TSDS Production, any previous LanguageInstructionProgramService Data will be deleted. The data must be reloaded to the IODS using LangInstuProgramSvc
Review the TEA TDS Domain Dependency 2025.2.1 reference for the hierachy of Staff Promotion requirements by Domain/Entity.

Verify in the OnDataSuite File Center – Ed-Fi API – API_Fall Info view the required entities are loaded in the TEA IODS (Records column) and how many are being promoted based upon the TEA Fall PEIMS Promotion Logic for Staff.
Staff FTE calculations are based upon the new reporting of NumberDaysEmployed and PercentDayEmployed on the Staff EducationOrganizationEmployementAssociation – DaysEmployedSets (TX). Without this data flowing ODS is unable to report Role ID FTEs, etc.
Utilize the Ed-Fi Rules – Staff Section for checks and balances of data being reported. *Note these edits could be prevent data from reporting or could be over-reporting data.
Check the Payroll reporting on Staff by Fiscal Year (common issue of many reporting incorrect Fiscal Year on the Payroll extension.
Utilize the Fall Dashboard – Staff Information Section
- https://kb.ondatasuite.com/knowledge-base/2-3-3-user-settings/ to turn on the description of codes and elements on the dashboard
- Staff Information required Role IDS AND Payroll Object information on the staff (check your File Center for promotion of both entities)
OnDataSuite Print Staff Profile feature (comparative to TSDS PDM1-111-001 Individual Staff Roster)
From any Staff list report (Either ad-hoc or drilldown list on a custom report) OR from an individual Staff Profile screen (Scroll to bottom of left menu for Print option), :
- Use the Tool dropdown on the list report (upper right above list)
- Select Print Staff Profile and it will create the ODS Staff Profile for every staff in the list.
**NOTE: If your list is very large, over a 1000 you will get a message that you need to refine the list to less than 1000 before creating the print queue for Staff Profile
