Student Excess Contact Hour Summary

Summary: Report will list students reported with excess contact hours. This is the number of hours above the allowable six hours per day of combined career and technical education and special education and related services in a designated instructional setting (IS) during a particular reporting period.
(IS=Instructional Setting)

Usage: Review students who are coded with more than 6 contact hours (combination of SPED and CTE) and/or will trigger PEIMS fatal rule 42405-0028.

Calculations:

  • Total Excess Hours in Instructional Setting – sums all Excess Hours columns together
  • Total Eligible Days Present X 5.75 – sums all Eligible Days Present columns together and multiplies the total by 5.75

    • OFF – displays all students with excess hours
    • ON – displays only students who meet conditions of fatal rule 42405-0028
  • Drill down on TX Unique Student ID to the student profile for CTE Attendance and SPED Attendance tabs to view granular level of data.
