Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Resources

HB 2 established the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) for school systems to compensate and retain teachers beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.

As of October 15, 2025: Status of the NEW reporting (as of 25-26) aligned with the new Fall PEIMS required elements YearsTRATeachingExperience and LEADeterminedTRAEligibility:

  • Staff Report Center (Ad-Hoc): PEIMS – each area for 25 -26 has the new elements in the Criteria list. (Available now)
  • Staff ProfileOverview and Employment History – include the new elements. (Available now)
  • Teacher Roster – TRA Years Experience & Base Salary Verification : In Beta Testing (Support > Pre-Release) early week of 10/20/2025.
  • TRA Count by Years TRA Teaching Experience – Post 2025: pending LEA release of the new required Fall PEIMS reporting elements (noted above) publishing to the TEA IODS.
  • Additional reporting updates for Finance – SOF pending LEA release of the new elements published to the TEA IODS.

OnDataSuite has released five reports related to review and projections for TRA. The reports are initially based upon 24-25 Fall PEIMS data as TEA is utilizing for initial funding estimates for 25-26 implementation. Additionally, this reporting provides early review of data validation and verification going into the 25-26 school year.

1 – Teacher Retention Count by Years Experience (released under Staff Custom Reports > Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Reports on 7/11/2025)

FIlter by campus and/or years of experience.

Drill into any count for a staff list of teachers in that count in the Eligible column or the Ineligible column.

Drill into individual Staff Profile for additional details on a single staff member.

OR use the Tools menu (upper right from the list view) and select Print Staff Profile.

This provides the option to either view a Staff Profile snapshot of each teacher in the list or you can print or save as pdf. To review onscreen, Cancel the print option window and note the reporting is available for you to scroll and review details of each teacher’s Responsibility records as well as their Base Salary (if you have permission to view the Base Salary) and Years of Prof Experience as of the Fall Snapshot date.


2 – HB2 Teacher Retention Allotment Estimates (released under Finance Custom Reports > Summary of Finance (SOF) Reports > Staff Funding Reports on 7/18/2025)

Summary: HB 2 established the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) for school systems to compensate and retain teachers as of 25-26 and beyond.. This report is to provide an overview count of teachers by years of experience meeting the eligibility criteria and project estimated funding.

Usage: Use this report to assist in completing the Summary Of Finance (SOF) template funding projections for TRA.

3 – Potential TRA Teacher PFTE Roster (released under Staff Custom Reports > Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Reports on 7/22/2025)

Usage: Review report for staff reporting Role ID/Staff Classification 087-Teacher. The Role ID/Staff Classification PFTE is reported for each teacher (role id 087 only) as is the Years of Professional Experiece. Utilize to review any teachers not meeting the required (PFTE => .5) and verify all teachers are being reported.

4 – Potential TRA Teacher with Multiple Role IDs (released under Staff Custom Reports > Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Reports on 7/25/2025)

Usage: Review report for staff reporting multiple Role ID/Staff Classifications where one is 087. The Role ID/Staff Classification PFTE is calculated and reported for each staff Role ID. Review Years of experience and Role ID/Staff Classification PFTE to ensure accurate teacher (087) eligibility for TRA (PFTE => .5). *Note each (087) Teacher row is highligted to indicate if they meet the qualifcation.

5 – Teacher Responsibilities Reporting Less than Four Hours per Day (released under Staff Data Validation on 9/5/2025)

Summary: HB 2 established the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) for school systems to compensate and retain teachers beginning with 25-26. This report is to provide an audit review of teachers reporting teaching less than 4 hours per day on average (based upon Fall PEIMS Monthly Minutes).
**As TEA 25-26 clarifications are provided related to HB2 TRA 4 hours per day reporting, OnDataSuite will update reporting to align with TEA final rules.

Usage: Review report forTeacher Responsibility records (Role ID/Staff Classification 087) where the sum of the Monthly Minutes is less than 4800 minutes.
TEA currently defines Fall PEIMS Monthly Minutes reporting as 7 hrs/day * 5 days/week * 4 weeks/month = 60 min * 7 *5 * 4 = 8,400 Monthly Minutes.

4 hours per day = 60 * 4 * 5 * 4 = 4,800 Monthly Minutes
