IBC Analysis by Year

Report Location: Student>Student Custom Reports>CTE

Summary: This report displays IBC counts and percentages for multiple years broken out by the IBC results and totals. This report can be run at the ESC and individual LEA level.

Usage: Use this detailed analysis for IBC coding verification affecting CCMR, longitudinal comparisons, and specific grants and data requests.

Special Notes:

• Report starts with the 2022-2023 school year when IBC results started being reported
• Since PEIMS Fall Leaver students are included, you can’t run ad hoc queries on Summer Enrollment IBCs to compare counts because fall leaver students are not in summer PEIMS reporting. Use the drill downs to see which submission the IBC is associated with

Definitions:

• Industry Based Certification (Post Secondary Certification Licensure)
  • Post Secondary Certification Licensure Code – E1640 including all IBCs across PEIMS fall, fall leaver, and PEIMS summer reporting
• IBC Result
  • Earned (01)
    • Post Secondary Certification Licensure Result Code – E1733 = 01
  • Passed (02)
    • Post Secondary Certification Licensure Result Code – E1733 = 02
  • Failed (03)
    • Post Secondary Certification Licensure Result Code – E1733 = 03
  • Total
    • Sum of Earned + Passed + Failed IBC results
  • Note: A student is only counted once in each result column even if they took the IBC multiple times during the year with the same result
• Total IBCs
  • Sum of all IBCs in the results and total columns
• Total IBC Students
  • Unique count of students in the results and total columns

Calculations:

• IBC Result %
  • Individual IBC Results rows = IBC / Total IBCs in that individual row
  • Individual IBC Total rows = IBC Total / Grand Total IBCs at end of report
• Total IBCs and Total IBC Students % = Results / Total

  • Multi select Years – Default most recent 3 years of summer PEIMS files
    • Note: Starts with the 2022-2023 school year when IBC results started being reported
  • Multi select Secondary Campuses – Default All Campuses
    • Note: Results are combined, not separated by campus
  • ESC Only: Multi select LEAs – Default All LEAs
    • Note: Results are combined, not separated by LEA
  • Multi select Grades – Default All Grades
  • Multi select IBC Codes – Default All Codes
  • Multi select IBC Results – Default All Codes
    • Note: If only one result is selected, the percentage column will not be shown since it will always be 100%
    • Note: If two results are selected, the percentage columns will be based on these results only, not on all 3 results
  • Multi select CTE Codes – Default All Codes
    • Note: There is the potential for a student to take an IBC who has not yet been coded as CTE or CTE Code 4 – Not CTE so these are included in the dropdown
  • Focus List – To select specific groups of students
  • Reset Default Filters – Resubmit the report with the default filters
