Snapshots data allows you to “freeze” your data exactly as it existed on a given date. Snapshots data can be used for any type of historical comparison where a begin date and end date is reported to TEA Ed-Fi IODS.
Snapshots data will automatically promote with your nightly pull as long as there has been at least one change. In the example below, the snapshot A date will be set to 5/26/2025.
To set other snapshot dates than the daily one, navigate to the Administrator>Site Settings>Snapshots screen seen below.
Note: You must be an OnDataSuite administrator to set snapshot dates.
Review the instructions on the screen and set the dates you wish to freeze.
- You may create three additional Snapshot dates for reporting.
- Snapshot Dates are only available under the Snapshots tab in the blue menu bar: Snapshots>Student or Staff – Report Center (ad-hoc) and custom reports if available
- Snapshot Dates do NOT apply to any other menus in OnDataSuite (Ex. Student, Assessment, Staff, etc.)
File Center
- Snapshot promotions can be found in the File Center>Data Sources>TSDS Ed-Fi>Ed-Fi API tab with the naming convention starting with API_ASOF
Snapshots>Student or Staff
- When creating a Snapshots ad-hoc report, you can use the default date of the latest TEA Ed-Fi IODS Pull date with changes or choose other snapshot dates in the dropdown box if they have been set on the Administrator>Site Settings>Snapshots screen.
- When running any custom reports, use the date dropdown filter to change to different snapshot dates if they have been set on the Administrator>Site Settings>Snapshots screen.
