Source-Telpas current year and prior year
TELPAS Growth is determined using a student’s composite score from one year to the next, based on performance in the four domains. TEA uses a statistical model that considers:
- Prior year composite rating
- Current year composite rating
Usage: measures the year-to-year progress using Composite Scores Scores of English learners (ELs) in acquiring English language proficiency. It is a part of the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) and is used by districts, campuses, and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to evaluate how effectively students are developing English skills across four domains: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
