The “promotion process” is what happens in OnDataSuite when new or updated Ed-Fi data has been pulled from TEA to your OnDataSuite database. OnDataSuite will automatically check your district’s Ed-Fi database (IODS) at TEA based upon a schedule your district sets. If new or updated data is found once the data is pulled, your OndataSuite system will automatically run a series of procedures to update all calculations and reports to reflect the new data. A promotion process can take from a few minutes to a couple of hours depending on district size and system load.
To see when your OnDataSuite performed its last pull and promotion check the highlighted comment in the lower right of the black menu bar at the bottom of the screen. (See below) Click the comment to see a log of recent pull and promotion events.
