Student Retention Rate by Campus/Grade 

Report Location: Student>Student Custom Reports>Retention

Summary: This report displays campus/grade/summary fall retention rates across years using retained students compared to fall enrolled snapshot students. It also displays a longitudinal line graph identifying the summary totals depending on what campus(es)/grade(s) chosen.

Usage: Review retention rates across years/campuses/grades/summary to assist with district/campus improvement plans and other LEA priorities.

Data Sources:

  • Fall and Summer PEIMS
    • 40100 Student Basic Information Sub-Category
      StudentExtension Complex Type
    • 40110 Enrollment Sub-Category
      StudentSchoolAssociationExtension Complex Type

Definitions:

  • Campus and Grade – Fall snapshot
  • Retained – Count of students who have a fall grade level (E0017) equal to the prior summer end of year grade level
  • Fall Enrollment – Count of fall enrolled snapshot students

Calculations:

  • Retention Rate – (Retained / Fall Enrollment) * 100

Special Note:

  • District Summary summarizes the campuses/grades selected with filters. When using the default filters, the District Summary will be the grand totals by grade level. The longitudinal graph will use the grade level retention rates contained in the District Summary rows.
