HB2 Teacher Retention Allotment Estimates

Report Location: Finance – Finance Custom Reports – Summary of Finance Reports – Staff Funding Reports

Summary: HB 2 established the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) for school systems to compensate and retain teachers as of 25-26 and beyond.. This report is to provide an overview count of teachers by years of experience meeting the eligibility criteria and project estimated funding.

Usage: Use this report to assist in completing the Summary Of Finance (SOF) template funding projections for TRA.

Data Sources: Fall PEIMS records (as of 24-25 school year)

  • 30040 –Staff Domain > Staff Entity
  • 30050 – Staff Domain > StaffEducationOrganizatonEmploymentAssociation Entity
  • 30060 – Finance Domain > PayrollExt Entity
  • 30090 – Teaching and Learning Domain > StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation Entity
  • 40110 – Enrollment Domain > StudentSchoolAssociation Entity

Special Instructions:

Total Base Salary andAverage Base Salary columns will populate when the user permissions include the Restricted Access of Staff Base Salary. Contact your local OnDataSuite Administrator if you have questions regarding your access.

Definitions:

  • Teachers– StaffClassification (E0721) (Role ID ) equal 087 as reported on the 30090 (StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation Entity)
  • Years of Professional Experience – The TotalYearsProfExperience (E0130) as reported on the 30040 (Staff Entity) categorized by funding tiers: 0-2, 3-4 and 5 or more.
  • Base Salary – Total of PayrollAmount (E0425) where PayrollActivity(E0424) = 80 (Base Salary) as reported on the 30060 – Finance Domain > PayrollExt Entity
  • Student Enrollment – Total Fall Snapshot reported students enrollment
  • Per Teacher Allotment:
    For school systems with 5,000 or fewer enrolled students:
    • $4,000 for each classroom teacher with at least 3 years and less than 5 years of experience.
    • $8,000 for each classroom teacher with five or more years of experience.
  • For school systems with more than 5,000 enrolled students:
    • $2,500 for each classroom teacher with at least 3 years and less than 5 years of experience.
    • $5,000 for each classroom teacher with five or more years of experience

Calculations:

  • Number of Eligible Teachers – Utilizes the 30040 (TotalYearsProfExperience (E0130)) and 30090 (Staff Classification/Role ID = 087) to provide a total count of teachers by Years of Professional Experience where the total Teacher PFTE for Staff Classification/Role ID 087 => .5
  • Eligible Teachers Total PFTE – Utilizes the 30090 (StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation Entity) Reporting the Sum of all Teacher Responsibility Records PFTE => .5
    • Partial FTE (PFTE) is the per 30090-StaffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociation Entity FTE calculated as the portion of the Total Employee FTE that is spent in the specific role.

  • Total Allotment – By Years of Professional Experience funding tiers : Per Teacher Allotment (defined above) * Number of Eligible Teachers for the respective tier
  • Total Base Salary – Total Base Salary (30060) per 30090 for the Eligible Teachers for the respective Years of Professional Experience row.
  • Average Base Pay – Total Base Salary divided by Eligible Teachers Total PFTE for ther respective Year of Professional Experience row.

  • Filters: District/Campus – can be run at the district level or for a single campus. Default is district level report. This is a multi-select filter
