Report Output Formats Excel or CSV

OnDataSuite delivers reports in different formats depending on how the report is generated.

Canned reports—the standard, prebuilt reports in the system—download as Excel (.xlsx) files. These reports rely on structured layouts, headers, and formatting that Excel can preserve, ensuring the information is immediately readable and ready for use.

Ad-hoc reports and drilldown results, on the other hand, download as CSV (.csv) files. These options are designed for flexible, user-driven analysis and often involve large or highly customized datasets. CSV is a lightweight, universal format that exports quickly and makes it easy for users to sort, filter, and combine data without the added overhead of Excel formatting.

This distinction helps OnDataSuite balance performance and usability: Excel for polished, prebuilt reports, and CSV for fast access to raw, customizable data.
